GAME MANAGEMENT REPORTS
HOME TEAM | REPORT | NEXT HOME GAME |
New this week | ||
Bristol Aztecs | 90-yard field marked poorly, with pencil-thin lines painted by hand. Often hard to see and not straight. However, the home team were attentive to the issues and tried to rectify them where they could. The down box broke and was unable to show "1" throughout the game. The changing room was fine for a crew of five, but not eight, so a second room was provided. Oliver Maskell #221 | Unknown |
Cambridgeshire Cats | Team areas were marked between the 25-yard lines. Some holes in the field required filling prior to kick off. Brian Yates #29 | Unknown |
Hertfordshire Cheetahs | Two changing rooms were provided. Both were needed, as the larger one is being used to store furniture and a physio/massage bench, which reduces the available space. Peter Parsons #321 | Unknown |
Manchester Titans | 90-yard field. Several small holes from football goal posts needed filling with sand. The changing room, whilst large and comfortable, was the stadium media room and had no toilet or shower. David Hewitt #607 | 23rd August 2025 v Bristol Aztecs |
Newcastle Vikings | No nine-yard marks or numbers. No three-yard marks. Henry Richardson #25 | Unknown |
Outstanding items from previous weeks | ||
Hereford Stampede | A tight 90-yard field with seven-yard end zones. The field surface undulated in one-third. The changing room was not lockable. Euan Paterson #165 | 17th August 2025 v Somerset Wyverns |
Leicester Panthers | The field was marked in yellow with other sports markings present. No team areas. Jed Brookes-Lewis #395 | 17th August 2025 v Birmingham Bulls |
London Warriors (NWFL) | The officials' changing room was a public changing room shared with the University gym and was a significant walk from the field. Peter Parsons #321 | 16th August 2025 v Solent Thrashers |
Oxford Saints | Well-marked 100-yard field with mainly blue lines. Coaching boxes and team areas were marked with yard markers and cones. No limit lines. Peter Parsons #321 | 17th August 2025 v Berkshire Renegades |
Wembley Stallions | The field has been remarked with a computerised field marker. The markings are very good but slightly different from the previous markings which lead to double lines appearing in places. As the old markings are washed away this problem will vanish but today it did cause minor confusion. Keith Wickham #423 | 17th August 2025 v East Kent Mavericks |
PLAY OF THE WEEK: | |
New this week | Play: 3 seconds remain in the 2nd Quarter it is 1st and 10 at the B-40. Team A are attempting to score before the half is over. QB A12 drops back to pass and is sacked at the B-49. After making the tackle, line backer B55 makes an offensive gesture towards the Team A sideline. Time expired during the down.
|
Last week | Play: 4th and 1 at the B-40. QB A4 moves from shotgun formation to under center and barks signals in an unsuccessful attempt to draw Team B offside. With 10 seconds remaining on the play clock, A4 backs away from the center and jogs toward the sideline being very demonstrative with his arms and waiving to the bench. As A4 approaches the sideline, the ball is snapped directly to back A30 just before the play clock expires and A30 runs to the B-38 where he is tackled in bounds.
|
MECHANICS: | |
New this week | Game Situation: On a 5 man crew, Team A take a timeout. Both teams huddle near their respective sidelines. Team B is on the press-box sideline. The Umpire informs the crew that the timeout is nearing its end and the wing officials on both sidelines encourage their respective teams to return to the field. Team A return to the field. The Line Judge has been reminding Team B that the timeout is expiring and they should return to the field, but they are still huddling around a Coach. The timeout expires and the ball is declared ready for play. Team A are ready and in position for their next offensive play, Team B are not. How should the officials react?
|
Last week | Game Situation: Running Back A46, runs towards the right edge, where his is hit, as he is going to ground he looses control of the ball, and B91 recovers the ball while their knee is touching the ground. When in doubt is the ball carrier down or is it a fumble? Answer: When in doubt, it is a fumble rather than the running play has ended (M6.2.26). |
