BAFRA ELITE PROGRAMME (BEP)
With the conclusion of the Annual Examination period, the process of selecting the members of the BEP can commence. Should you wish to be considered, then you must apply in writing to me at operations@bafra.info.
The closing date for applications is 5pm Saturday 12th June 2022.
Applications will only be considered from Qualified BAFRA members who meet specific criteria. Full details of the criteria can be found in the amended Elite Programme Policy in Section 6 of the Members' Handbook. Also, as part of the criteria includes your rating on the Selection Spreadsheet, which must be 80% or above, I would also recommend you read the Scheduling and Selection Policy which can be found in Section 5 of the Members Handbook. If you wish to know your current rating on the Selection Committee Spreadsheet before making your decision on whether or not to apply, please send an email to operations@bafra.info as soon as possible to request your current score. Before I can respond the results of the exam need to be collated and issued.
If it is your intention to apply then I would recommend that you read the documents in full as there have been some changes. If you are considering applying and would like an informal discussion please contact me.

The Tamworth head coach strongly suggested to the Line Judge that the player was celebrating as he entered the endzone and wanted a flag. Despite attempts by the Line Judge to explain or discuss the play, the coach then made remarks to the official which drew an unsportsmanlike foul. Gateshead Senators | 90-yard field with ten-yard end zones. The goal posts were moveable rugby goalposts and, due to the uneven surface at one end, leant to the side. This was not an issue for either of the teams, so the games were played in both directions. No nine-yard markings or numbers. Hospitality by the home club was excellent - with a cup of tea provided on arrival and the officials were made aware there would be food provided after the game (as we all had to leave immediately post game - the kind offer was not taken up). London Hornets | Team areas marked with cords and poles. Officials room, although large, was dirty and had no separate showers. During the second half, the ball boy on the visiting teams side got into a conversation with the away teams coaching staff and decided his day was over. London Olympians | Well marked 90-yard field with 10-yard end zones, marked in blue with other sport markings in white and yellow. Marks at 9-yards and no team area markings, although rugby lines approximated for coaching lines and the ends of the team areas were marked with cones. KO delayed by 15 minutes with the consent of both coaches due to players and officials being caught up in the backlog resulting from a serious RTA. One ball person changed at half time. Nuneaton Jaguars (U16) | The final game of the day was delayed waiting for the arrival of an ambulance to treat an injured player. South Wales Warriors | Crew got changed in the stadium's medical suite, which wasn't locked and has no private toilet or shower. 90-yard field with 8-yard endzones. The lines have been recently remarked, but were noticeably faint in one corner - it appears as though the grass was cut after the lines were marked. This did not cause any issues on the day. Sussex Thunder | 90-yard field in blue with other markings in white, yellow, and red. No nine-yard marks or numbers. End lines are too close to the fence and therefore, as usual at this venue, the Soccer goal line was used as the end line. Team areas marked with cones. Short yard line extensions at the hash marks, between each 15-yard line and goal line, are so faded that they are almost impossible to see in direct sunlight. Spotting was assisted by the hash mark pylons but the field must be remarked to be playable in future. Supplied balls had to be inflated to correct pressure. Chain broke twice. Play of the Week Correction | Newsflash 20/22 gave the incorrect answer to play of the week inNewsflash 19/22. AR 7-2-4:III has changed to bring IFAF in line with NCAA rules. The correct ruling is as follows: Play: Fourth and three at the B-7, A20 fumbles the ball at the B-5 and the bouncing ball is batted towards B’s end line at the B-3 by B40. The ball is recovered in the end zone by A23.
