HEAD OF MENTORING
Given recent feedback from members who have mentored in recent years, the board has agreed to implement a new Head of Mentoring role. This role would act as the sole liaison for all Mentors as they guide trainees through the Associate process. The role will include reporting to the Director of Recruitment, however they will also work very closely with the Director of Training to ensure a consistently high level of training is delivered to all Associates.
Ideally the person in the role will have mentored themselves in the past, for an understanding of the current process.
Any questions or for a full discussion around the role, please feel free to give me a call. My number can be found on the BAFRA Membership list. Formal expressions of interest should be emailed to me at recruitment@bafra.info .The deadline for applications is Sunday 11th August.
Ollie Maskell - Director of Recruitment

PLAY OF THE WEEK: | |
New this week | Play: Team A, 4th and 7 at the A-8. Punter A85 receives the snap and runs to his right. At the A-6, A85 kicks the ball, which bounds along the ground to the B-48 where it is fielded by B1, who returns it to the B-49 where he is tackled by A19. During the kick, A19 steps out of bounds on his own at the A-17.
|
Last week | Play: Team A, 4th & 11 at the B-35 with the ball at position 5. QB A4 scrambles toward the press box side of the field. B17 grabs and restricts A88 in the middle of the field at the B-24 just as A4 releases the pass from the B-41. B56 leaps up at the B-35 and intercepts the pass and lands at the B-35 where he is tackled by A4 at the B-41. The Back Judge has a flag down on this play.
|
MECHANICS: | |
New this week | Game Situation: How should a Linesman and Linejudge work together during a penalty enforcement to ensure that yardage is marked off correctly. (Note that this is not a free kick play).
|
Last week | Game Situation: 1st and 10 for Team A on the Team A 20 yard line, a 4-man crew are covering the game. Team A run a draw play and catch out the entire defence as well as the two wing officials. Running back A23 vanishes into the pile, and then emerges from the other side with only Free Safety B20 chasing him down. A23 runs towards the sideline and the Team B endzone, with the wing official on his side of the field trailing behind. B20 tackles A23 in the field of play very close to the pylon, and then out of bounds with the pylon being displaced during the action. It is unclear if a touchdown has been scored. What should the officials do?
