NFL GAME AT WEMBLEY

BAFRA have been approached to supply the chain crew for the NFL game at Wembley on Sunday 26th October between the New Orleans Saints and the San Diego Chargers.

At this stage, we don't know exactly how many people they will need, nor what they are offering in terms of expenses and/or accommodation (it may be nil). However, if you would like to volunteer for this assignment, please let me know as soon as possible. If you have previous experience as chain crew (e.g. with the Monarchs or Claymores) please mention it in your email

NEXT HOME GAME

31/08/08

Coventry Jets

Changing room too small, relocated to one of the team changing rooms after a 10 minute wait. The field was only 85 yards long with 9 yard end zones, there were no hash marks, no inbounds lines, no numbers or 9 yard marks. In spite of all this, the Coventry game management deserve a plaudit for getting the field marked at all in such a short time after the field they planned to play on became waterlogged.

Note: it is possible that any game may be cancelled, or any team may arrange additional games. In addition, the large number of game cancellations this week means that the fixtures listed here are highly likely to change. Any dates mentioned here are intended only as a guide.

END ZONE

PLAY OF THE WEEK:

New this week

Play: A's ball, 2nd and 9, on A's 47. A23 is running near the sideline on B's 46 when he is hit and fumbles. A23 runs out of bounds on B's 44, re-enters the field on B's 36, recovers the fumble on B's 32 and advances for a touchdown.

Ruling?

Last week's play

Play: A's ball, 2nd and 8, on A's 42. Prior to the snap, B96 crosses the neutral zone and after contacting A67, forcefully tackles QB A16. Immediately thereafter, A67 hauls off and commits a personal foul against B96.

Ruling: A's ball, 2nd and 3, on A's 42. The 5-yard penalty for B96's dead ball offside foul is enforced from the previous spot. The two dead ball personal fouls offset and the penalties are cancelled. The personal foul by A67 occurred before the penalty for B96's foul was completed. The Rule 10-1-5 Exception is specific although the referee determines when a penalty has been completed. Players may be ejected based on the severity of the acts.
