Polo Shirts for Bowl Games

Costs for Polo shirts has increased significantly over the past couple of years however the BAFRA Board are committed to providing a shirt for those members who work their first Bowl Game.

For the avoidance of doubt, all members are entitled to one free commemorative polo shirt when they undertake their first game (whether 11 vs. 11 or smaller sided and whether contact or flag football). If they choose they may defer it in the hope of getting a more prestigious bowl game later in their career.

If you believe you are entitled to a Polo Shirt, please send details to president@bafra.info I will then finalise details with you direct.

Once we have addressed the above we will be looking into the process for offering members the opportunity to purchase BAFRA Polo Shirts

REPORT

New this week

Solent Thrashers

Plane of the crossbar overhangs the endline. 10 yard lines are blue whilst the rest of the markings are yellow.
Philip Hume 52

London Blitz

The field markings were faint and particularly difficult to see when looking in to the sun. The down box is sometimes unclear as to which down is showing. There were no limit lines. With the agreement of both coaches and the Referee, the 3rd and 4th quarters were shortened to 10 minutes.
Peter Parsons 321

Portsmouth Dreadnoughts

Chain crew and ball persons provided late, delaying kick off. Played on second pitch as main pitch is being made in to a 3G pitch
Ellis Bowyer 502

London Blitz

Kickoff was delayed 40 minutes waiting for the arrival of medical cover. The field markings were faint and particularly difficult to see when looking in to the sun. The down box is sometimes unclear as to which down is showing. There were no limit lines. There were a number of hammer holes in one corner of the field which required filling before the game started. With the agreement of both coaches and the Referee, the 3rd and 4th quarters were shortened to 0 minutes. Plaudits to both teams and coaching staffs for the manner in which the game was played.
Peter Parsons 321

Knottingley Raiders

90 yard field. No 9 yard marks/numbers or limit lines.Sidelines hashes were too far from the sidelines (approx 10 inches ).There were several divots in the ground caused by the hot weather that required filling in but this was taken care of quickly by Knottingley 's game management.
David Hewitt 607

Bristol Apache

The ambulance was late arriving, so kick-off was delayed by 40 minutes.
Darryl Morton 493

London Olympians

No team area/coaching box marked out with lines. Cones placed to act as guides. Some lines quite faint. Goals not to regulation post height/width but cross bar was OK. Multi sport markings in same colour on field surface. Several long injury delays of >5 minutes caused game to be suspended while players treated on pitch.
Phil Clarke 262

Northumberland Vikings

7 yd endzones. No players box. Well organised game management.
Daniel Johnston 347

Tamworth Phoenix

Well marked 100 yard field, with blue lines which are fading during the season.
Ian Wainwright 567

Darlington Steam

Generally well marked 90 yard field, missing 9 yard marks and team area markings, plaudits to Darlington on a well managed first home game.
Liam Wooton 478

Buckinghamshire Wolves

Wolves only had 5 players for the day, and 1 of them was injured (heatstroke) in the first game already, so they finished their first match with 4 players (and won overwhelmingly) and conceded the remaining 2 games.
Viktor Janvari 63

Sussex Thunder

Temporary venue so fields were marked with cones using all the lines they could on the 3G surface.
Oliver Maskell 221

Inverclyde Goliaths

Field initially marked off as longer but goal posts were inside the endzones so field was shortened to 90 yds. Short yard line extensions on sideline did not line up with inbound lines/hashmarks. Team areas not marked out properly including coaching boxes.
Shawn Sombati 15
